Patrick meet with community elders while at Engekaret. This amazing elder provided the land to begin our projects many years ago. Patrick sat with him to thank him for his contribution and to hear the impact the primary school and sewing program have had in the community over the years.

While at Engekaret Primary School, Patrick took the opportunity to show the students we value play. School is a sacred time for them, where they get to play together. They had a lot of fun playing running races together.

When we asked the school students what they were thankful for, 100% of them said their school.

What a special moment when Patrick met Alindwe, our head teacher. Alindwe has worked at the school for many years, capably leading the team in Montessori pedagogy.

Alindwe has a heart for the community, travelling far each day to work, teaching the children with dedication and love.

While in Tanzania, Patrick and Rebecca visited some homes of our school students.

They live in a traditional Maasai boma, made from sticks, mud and grass. These boma have neither electricity or water. The environment is incredibly dry and nothing grows there. They use thorns to protect themselves and their farm animals from wild animals at night.

It was great to see most children attending school and spoke with the children responsible for herding the cattle while other family members go to school.
